Loopmind was started by practitioners who found that most online courses left learners with notes but nothing to show. We set out to change that.

A School Built Around the Loop

Loopmind started in George Town, Penang in 2022 when a group of developers and data practitioners noticed something frustrating: learners were finishing online courses and still not knowing how to build anything real. They understood the vocabulary. They'd watched the videos. But the moment a dataset didn't match the tutorial, they were stuck.

The founders of Loopmind came from engineering and applied research backgrounds, and they'd all gone through that same experience themselves. What finally helped wasn't another video — it was being given a messy problem and a mentor who would talk it through honestly.

That's the thinking behind every programme at Loopmind. Each one is structured as a loop: learn a concept, apply it to something real, get feedback, refine. That cycle — not a linear video playlist — is how practical skill actually develops.

We keep cohorts small on purpose. Mentors read your actual code, not just your quiz score. And everything you build stays with you — it belongs in your portfolio, not in a sandboxed environment that disappears when the course ends.

Lead Instructor & Co-founder

Former machine learning engineer who spent six years in applied NLP before founding Loopmind. Leads the Advanced Programme and designs the curriculum architecture across all three tracks.

Data analyst turned educator, with a background in Python and scientific computing. Manages the Foundations Programme and coordinates mentoring across cohorts.

Standards We Hold Ourselves To

Real Code, Not Notebooks-Only

Projects are structured so learners produce code that runs outside a Jupyter notebook — versioned, documented, and deployable where relevant.

Written Mentor Feedback

Every submitted project receives written feedback from a named mentor — not a rubric score, not a tick-box review. Specific observations on what works and what to improve.

Privacy-Respecting Practices

Learner data is handled with care. We collect only what's needed, store it securely, and don't share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Curriculum Updated Regularly

The AI tooling landscape changes quickly. We review and update programme content before each cohort to keep examples and tooling current.

Cohort Size Limits

Each programme cohort is capped to ensure mentors can give meaningful attention to each learner — not just manage a large group from a distance.

Honest About Outcomes

We don't make claims about jobs, salaries, or career outcomes. We describe honestly what each programme covers and what you'll be able to build at the end.

Practical, Honest, and Learner-First

Loopmind is not a platform that measures success by the number of enrolments or the length of a certificate PDF. Success looks like a learner in the Machine Learning Engineering Track finishing the programme with three portfolio projects they can actually talk about in depth — because they built them, debugged them, and refined them through a mentoring relationship.

We work in English, draw on datasets and problems relevant to Southeast Asia where possible, and keep the focus on engineering practice rather than pure theory. AI development in a working environment requires writing readable code, evaluating models critically, and making deployment decisions — and that's what each programme is built to develop.

Based in George Town, Penang, we serve learners across Malaysia and welcome enquiries from anywhere in the region. Programmes are delivered online with live sessions, so geography is not a barrier — only your time and commitment matter.
